I love these little things. So easy to trick out and cheap.

Another version of the Ruger 10-22, the MG-42 conversion kit.

That is cool ! Have you ever heard of one of these jamming? I've owned and tricked out a dozen of these and never had a single problem with any of 'em.
If only they could disguise the magazines.....

These are pretty cool little mod kits--
the krinker plinker.

From my understanding it's illegal to make a shroud to make the mag more realistic. It's ok to paint extended mags-- but concealing them within, say, an airsoft m16 mag is illegal--or so a friend of mine who got fined for it said.

Is it because of where they are manufactured? I know that ARMSCOR (made in the Philippines) make an AK22 (looks like a real AK, mag and all) and anM1600 (looks just like an M16) and they both have full size mags covering a .22cal mag. Also the Armi Jager AP-74 (another M16 replica) made in Italy has the .22 mag inside the full size mag.

I just acquired a Marlin 60 from my uncle. No pics handy, and it's not really that impressive of a gun to look at :p .

I've never seen any of those-- And it may be a state thing, he lived in Mass when it happened. So I wouldn't be surprised if it would be equally met in California. Knowing the bleeding hearts, it would be a case of it resembling the real weapon, namely, flashing it as the real weapon to people-- honestly, whether it's .22 or .223, that sorta behavior isn't befitting anyone.
So bottom line--
I don't know. I would however, knowing the U.s. mentality, would make a judgement in saying that it would be a realism factor of why that mod would be banned in certain regions.

You can see pics of the Armscor guns here.

Not necessarily the greatest looking look-alikes, but they have their unique charm about them.
