The Official List Of "Likely To Be Banned" Firearms

Now that the anti-gun crowd is back in power in the United States and starting to put on their warpaint, we need to get together a list of the firearms they will likely try to ban, so as to help all of us decide what our next purchase goals should be (obviously this is only really important to US Residents, but I'll take help from everyone).

Here's the way this works: There will be categories of "likely to be banned" firearms, and lists of the firearms therein.

A category is something like "Assault weapons", "Fifty-caliber anti-satellite space cannons" and "5.7mm Cop Killer Baby-Seeking Smart-Handguns"

Also, this is not limited to firearms, but also accessories, like magazines.

If you would like to suggest a category, post it as a reply. I'll consider it, and if it stands to reason, add it to the master list.

If you would like to suggest a firearm type that belongs in a certain category, post it in a reply. Post it's name, what category it belongs in, and a link to the manufacturers website. If there isn't a website, post a picture of it and the MSRP.

Don't provide multiple links to the same thing... For example, the AR-15 is likely to be banned. Bushmaster makes many types of AR-15. Thus there will be a link to Bushmaster under "AR-15", but there will not be a link to each type of AR-15 they make... There are too many.

However, a link to each manufacturer is a good thing.

Here are the rules for each entry:

#1: Must fit one of the "likely to be banned" categories.

#2: Must be avaliable on the US civil market, must not be an NFA item at present time.

Feel free to add things as time allows.

So I've seen. Hence why I'm going to include a "A-salt Rifles With One EviL Feature" section.

Hey, if you have read the new "AWB 2007" proposal (see it in my "OMFG!" post in the Political discussion), they want to ban as "Assault weapons" the RUGER MINI-14 and the M1 CARBINE.

[second post]

Let's face it...

How many possibilities does it has to pass?

IMHO, close to zero. If you think:

#1 - That, AFAIK, ther AWB 2007 contradicts in many points the "Gun Owners Protection Act" of 1986, which is permanent, and because of these contradictions this new AWB could not enter in effectiveness or should be heavily modified;

#2 - That not even all Democrats are anti-guns (remember, when the "Brady Bill" AWB was passed back in 1994, it was made to expire within 10 years, 'cause if they had proposed it to be permanent, most Democrats themselves would not have voted it anyway);

Well, if you have "your people" (you know what I mean with that) do their part for the good, you have some decent possibilities to pass through this proposals, virtually, undamaged.

But, again, you can never know... :s25:

[apologies for editing your two posts into one... Just trying to clean things up so the list is near the top of the thread. The content is unharmed, just moved]

The situation isn't as optimistic as you would think.

The democrats are as anti-gun as ever, and as stupid as ever. Odds are high they'll try to pass something anti-gun.

The republicans are as retarded as ever, and unlikely to seriously fight it. Besides, it works in their favor to anger the gun-owner crowd against the democrats.

High capacity magazine? How about the term "standard capacity magazine"? If the pistol normally has a 16 round magazine then that would be a standard capacity. Same with a rifle with a 30 rd magazine or whatever.

Although...

Not all optimistic, but not all gloom and doom either.

One of the key reasons the Democrats won congress (with a victory that small, more and more reasons can be considered key) is that a lot of Democrat senators got better NRA scores than their Republican opponents.

More Democrats are pro-gun than they used to be... and I still can't fricking wrap my mind around that.

Next thing we know the Republicans are going to turn anti-gun just to give me a god damn aneurism.

Did you notice the "sneer quotes"?

As in how Jihad is about a "peaceful" "inner" struggle. :MDR85:

"Likely to be banned"

Okay, then.

ALL derivatives of the following weapons:

AR-15/M-16/CAR-15/M-4
AK-47/AKM/AK-74 (also including the AKU-94 bull-pup conversion)
VEPR hunting rifles series
SAIGA shotguns series
AR-18/AR-180
SKS with detachable magazine
M14/M1A
FN FAL
Galil
Tavor
Stoner 63 / Robinson M96 (in all variants)
Steyr AUG
Bushmaster M17-S
FA-MAS
HK-G3/HK-41/HK-91/CETME/PTR-91
HK SL8
FN PS-90 (and, with it, the FN "Five-Seven" and the .5'7x28mm ammo, thus also including the gun made for such caliber by Rhineland Arms: EEEEEVIL armor-piercer anti-cop guns!)
FN PS-2000
Sturm-Ruger "Mini-14" and "Mini-30"
M1 Carbine

And the newer:
Robinson Arms XCR
FN SCAR
MagPul "Masada"
Kel-Tec RFB
Kel-Tec SU-16 and SUB-2000, all series (EEEVIL foldable and highly-concealable close-assault weapons! This, obviously, also applies to a gun such as the M6 "Scout" survival rifle!!!!!!)

Remington 700 "Police", and all accurized bolt-action and semi-automatic long arms specifically made for "Long Range" shooting, no matter if they have "Assault" features or not: EEEVIL sniper guns!

ALL firearms .408 and above, including .50-BMG and further: EEEEVIL anti-aircraft and anti-armored vehicles terrorist weapons!!!

ALL pump-action shotguns with one or more of the following: detachable magazine, pistol grip, side-folding or up-folding stock (EEEEVIL big-bore made-for-massacres streetsweepers!).
ALL "Military-lookalike" shotguns ("Stryker-12", USAS-12, SPAS-15 etc., now considered "Destructive Devices", later totally banned from civilian ownership).
ALL "Assault pistols".
ALL pistols of caliber large than 44 Magnum.
ALL detachable magazines for ALL firearms, with capacity higher than 10 rounds (for handguns) and 5 rounds (for long arms).

What else do I have forgot?

Oh, yes.
Minimum pistol barrel lenght allowed for civilian ownership: 3". All guns under are banned, obviously. "Special Consideration" should be made before allowing civilian ownership of "non-sporting" firearms chambered for light cartridges such as .17-HMR and .22 - Long Rifle, since them can easily fit EEEEEVIL (!!!) sound suppressors; obviously, sound suppressor should get out from the NFA list and be completely forbidden; so should also be the AOWs. Federal Tax stamp for transferable machineguns shall rise to 2000 US$ for EACH machinegun owned, and should be paid YEARLY.

CCWs shall be issued only to those civilians that have a history of "Honoured" service in Police, Federal agencies, or Military.
