"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing"

El Señor Alejo Garza Tamez, 77 years old, a humble rancher of Ciudad Victoria (Tamaulipas, Mexico), knew that very well.
So he will always be remembered because he lived and died like a man, rather than standing down to the rule of the stronger.

Farewell, Don Tamez! ¡Hasta siempre!

A true hero among men. I will remember his name, and tell my son about him. :icon14:

MORE from south of the border!

Guadalupe, Mexican 9000-inhabitans border town, left without police as the last cop in town was abducted and her house burned down, and all her colleagues either resigned or got killed in shootouts against drug cartel gunmen. The town is now policed by the Mexican military.

20-years-old student in criminology appointed to chief of Police in the Mexican hamlet of Praxedis Guerrero, where nobody wanted to take the charge.

All this, while the Mexican President, Felipe Calderon, has started a "crackdown" on drug cartels.

Isn't adamantly clear, now, who holds the real balance of power in Mexico?

This is just like Columbia in the 1990s under Escobar. It will end badly and get much much worse before it does.
