Hizbollah's using UAVs against Israel!

I know this is old but still its news to me and maybe someone else too? Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of Lebanese extremist organization Hezbollah intruded into Israeli airspace on November 7, 2004 approximately at 10:30 am local time. It flew at a low altitude over a town of Nahariya, turned to the Mediterranean Sea, turned again to the north and fell down at sea near the Lebanese shore. (Read more)

Recently it was shotdown over Israel. (Read more)

UAVs? C'Mon!

An UAV is actually a pretty easy thingy to build up. Nothing more than a larger-scale remote-controlled toy plane, you know. Iran and Syria should have the technology to build some, damn, "UAV" kits are sold in Italy in the NEWS-STANDS with things like "Build your own plane"!

Of, course the basics is easy, but not communication - range & tactical utility. According to Israeli sources, "Mirsad 1" is an Iranian "Mheger 4" drone,2 powered by a 10 hp engine and capable to fly at 2 km altitude with a maximum speed of 120 km/hr. According to the same source, Iran supplied Hezbollah with 8 such drones, and over the past two years some 30 Lebanese operatives have undergone training at Revolutionary Guards' bases near Isfahan to fly similar aircraft.

And its application may vary like they say in this news report from july;
A surprise attack by the militant group utilizes a new weapon in their arsenal. A UAV was loaded with explosives and hit one of Israel's warships enforcing a naval blockade of the nation's coastline. The IDF confirmed there was severe damage to the ship, but there are no reports on casualty figures.

That's bullshit. The INS Hanit was hit by an Iranian copy of the Chinese C-802 ASM, not a UAV. Video confirms this.

Yeah I heard the same mistaken reports initially, but considering the design of the UAV's the hezzies got, and their speed, it's is VERY doubtful any would be able to even touch an Israeli ship, much less do any damage if they did. I'm more worried about UAV's being used to deliver bombs to civilian targets, but for better or worse it seems that they seem to have a much less expensive supply of suicidally fucked up people so they wouldn't waste a UAV that way.
