Holy god this art is tough.
I just went to my first class in Wu Dang Quan today. It's one of those fluid Chinese martial arts that doesn't really look like much in a fight at first glance.
You will not friggin' believe how good of shape you must be in just to pull off the basics. I have good natural sense of balance, flexibility, I'm in fairly good shape, and have Jeet Kune Do experience.
I cannot hold a READY stance for more than 5 minutes.
There's another student who has 8 years Japanese martial arts experience, 4 years Muay Thai experience. He cannot keep his balance in basic movement exercises.
I've signed up for 9 months of this. It really makes every other martial art I've ever tried look like child's play.
