HMMWV (Humvee)
The High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle has been the mainstay truck of the U.S. military since 1985. One platform with multiple mission roles replaced numerous military vehicles and has proved itself as the most versatile, dependable and mobile tactical wheeled vehicle in the world. More than 65 combat and combat support systems have been fielded on HMMWVs. AM General has produced more than 185,000 HMMWVs for the U.S. and more than 50 friendly international forces.

Due in part to the military HMMWV renown in Desert Storm, AM General introduced a civilian version of the vehicle called the HUMMER in 1992. Known as ?the world?s most serious 4x4,? the revolutionary vehicle has found favor with commercial users who appreciate the value of HUMMER?s long life and amazing performance, and individuals who seek the ultimate in toughness and mobility. In 1999, General Motors acquired the HUMMER brand worldwide and rebadged the current vehicle H1. In 2002, AM General began assembling the HUMMER H2 for GM in its new factory in Mishawaka, Ind. This vehicle was designed by and is marketed by General Motors. For specific HUMMER product information visit

Light Service Support Vehicle
In 2005, AM General LLC and General Motors Corporation entered into an agreement for AM General to market and sell military vehicles manufactured by General Motors. This agreement leverages both company's strengths with AM General bringing expertise in military applications and an in-depth knowledge in military procurement.
AM General now offers a non-tactical militarized solution for base operations known as a Light Service Support Vehicle (LSSV). The GM-built Silverado 2500 HD is powered by a Duramax 6.6 liter turbodiesel engine and is available in crew cab or standard cab and can be equipped with the enhanced Mobility Package.

General Engine Products
In 1999, AM General incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary called General Engine Products LLC (GEP) and constructed a new plant in Franklin, Ohio, to build 6.5-liter diesel engines. GEP supplies service engines to General Motors' Service Parts Operation and builds engines for AM General's use, as well as for other customers.
