Fired a few... technical knowledge as required from somebody in my working position... but not exactly "into" it.

I've aquired a few over the years. My father left me a few when he died. Was just wondering last night as I looked them over. I think I may take a day and blow off some black powder.

Also, I just picked up a "duckfoot" pistol. I want to fire it, but I'm sort of afraid it may blow up in my face.

I did have a lot of fun with a Kentucky replica and an original Springfield 1863, I use my French 1777 and my Lepage replicas from time to time.

Question Re: Just out of curisoity...

Do not think i have ever seen a duckfoot replica. Just out of curiosity, who is the maker and when did you aquire it? Or is it perhaps a rebuilt-upgraded original?

I'm not sure who the maker is. It is a stainless steel, three barreled replica. It's actually very well built. Still sort of afraid to fire it though. I'm iffy about certain black powder weapons. My next purchase is going to be a Cogswell Pepperbox.

What about that one then? Who is the maker of that / what caliber?
I have only seen the "Cogswell" Pepperbox as a non-firing replica.
I Know the old (now non-existing?) firm Hoppes made a blackpowder pepperbox.
