Tell us another one!

95% of the world doesn't give a crap what the Roman Catholic Church says (including me). Maybe it is the biggest obstacle in Italy's path to progress, but most of humankind just doesn't care about them.

Environmentalism is the biggest obstacle in humankinds path to progress. It, unlike the Cathys, is the only religion I can think of that exists for the sole reason of slowing human progress. And they have much more control than the Cathiots on the world today.

Sure, sure. Tell it when New York, Los Angeles, Rome, Tel Aviv, and some other big cities in the world will be 3 feet underwater.

BTW, we are hijacking the thread pretty badly. If you want to go further, move the whole stuff to "Political". Okay?

#1: There is no actual proof to back this. The south pole has been growing over the last few years.

#2: There is no doubt this rock is a bit warmer than it was a few centuries ago... So? There is no proof that humans are the cause. The amount of greenhouse gas we produce is tiny, and the amount the rest of the planet produces is huge. To top it off Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are also warmer than they were a few decades ago. This is considerable proof that the warming is due to increased solar activity, and not humans. Unless you want to tell me when we started shipping SUVs to Mars.

#3 Global warming, manmade or not, takes thousands of years to occur in significant amounts. It isn't like New York would go underwater overnight. 2,500 years sound like enough time to evacuate people to you?

#4 Were it actually possible, it would be a very, very good thing if we could make this planet 5-15 degrees (F) warmer over the next 1,000 or so years... It would make a huge amount of currently useless land arable (i.e. farmable). This would make it much easier to feed humankinds ever growing population.

Buncha B. enormous S. put up by Bushco., ja?

Don't you realize that there is only ONE scientist in the entire international community (of which I do not even remember the name) that goes on upholding THIS theory, and that in many Countries in Europe (including Italy) is currently UNDER CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION for having been invited by Ministries to public conferences, paid hundreds of thousands of , to uphold theories which are now worldwide RECOGNIZED (not just "hypothesized") to be TOTALLY FAKE?

Realize it: the worldwide scientific community has OFFICIALLY DECLARED that what I say -IS- the truth. There is PLENTY of evidence. The only voice off the choir is the one of the Bush administration who doesn't wants to sign the Kyoto protocol for economic reasons.

The Global Warming -IS- man-caused. It is ongoing since the Industrial Revolution. And it's not going to happen in the turn of centuries or millennias. It's about a pair of decades. It's like a stove fire. We are keeping on blowing air and putting fuel on it. Do you still say that, "Hey, it will still take up some time to burn out completely?". You'll realize that your house is on fire when you'll hear the Fire Brigade coming or what?

The common wellness is SUPERIOR to ANY reasons of economic nature, especially if these "economic reasons" are part of a cycle that makes a minority richer in spite of a greater majority that remains poor or turns even poorer. What does it takes to you Americans to understand it?

Oh, S**T, these are the discussions that make me feel Tyler missing badly...

Default Wtf?

WTF are you talking about? There are many more scientests that say MAN MADE global warming is a myth than those that do. Where do you get the information that there is only one? Go here: http://www.oism.org/pproject/ and you can see the signatures of 17,000 scientists who dispute your claims. (That's a few more than one don't you think?) As Uzi has said, the ice packs in Antartica are growing larger and getting thicker and this is also where the largest green house gas hole in the atmosphere happens to be, or was anyway. And that, by the way, was caused by a volcano that spewed out more gasses in one week than have been generated by mankind since we started walking up right. I find it humerous how little we hear from the global warming pansies when we are having record cold temperatures around the country. The state of Hawaii recorded the lowest temperatures on record there this year and other places around the country are seeing the same thing. By the same token, forcasts are for record high temperatures this summer. That will bring them back out of the woodwork again.

Climate change is something that has happened continuously to the earth since the dawn of time. What do you suppose brought the ice age to an end, all those cave men running around in their SUVs? The sun goes through cycles of major sunspot activity which causes climate chage to everything within range of it. The cycles typically last about ten years and we are in one now. Ask any ham radio operator about it.

I recall about 30 years ago the same nimrods were making their case for global cooling and we were all going to freeze to death. One Hollywood brain trust, Ted Danson, warned us all in the 1980s that we had ten years to save the earth before the oceans all died from acid rain.. I think it's time they made up their minds and stick with one or the other. If the climate is warming or cooling there is not now nor has there ever been any proof that it is caused by anything that man has done or is doing. There is all kinds of proof of climate change brought on by natural causes that for the most part center around the sun.

There is also a group of scientists that are predicting a mini ice age between 2035 and 2045.

The funny part of the whole thing is that no one can accurately predict what the weather will be a week from now.

Default Do you really think mankind is that significant in the scheme of the planet, PT?

News flash, we are just another puny insignificant species on this planet. This planet will do things that aren't good for us, and there is not a damn thing we can do to stop it. 'Solve global warming?' There's a good chance it's going to happen no matter what we do. The sea level rise? Well, Florida was never going to last forever you know. What the hell does this planet's climate care about NYC, Tel Aviv, and wherever else the hell you mentioned?

You know, the poles are shifting, and supposedly that's going to bring the Earth's magnetic field under the crust for a period of around 100 years, so a full century with no protection from solar radiation. Come on PT, solve that one for us too.
