Default Re: M14 vs FAL in the US tests

If the T48 FAL was taken in US service, The M16 probably may not have been invented.

Probably, 'cause they would not have needed to switch to a new rifle so quickly as they needed to switch from the disgrace M-14 to the M-16 (and subsequently to modify the M-16 so many times).

IMHO, if the T-48 FAL was taken into service, they would have switched it later, maybe in the mid-1960s, and they would have gone for something along the lines of the AR-18. Wish they had done it, don't you?

On one hand yes... On the other no... I like the FAL over the M14... I like the M16 over the AR18.

It would have been best for us to wait a few years and adopt the AR-10. Replace it with the AR-15 later on.
