It does make me think of the series "World War" by Harry Turtledove. Large amounts of low tech versus small amounts of high tech... except the difference there is the high tech forces were a bit inept.

Wait, what? I'm pretty sure English isn't your first language, but that made absolutely no sense at all...

Walter Sobchak: I told those fucks down at the league office a thousand times that I don't roll on Shabbos!
Donny: What's Shabbos?
Walter Sobchak: Saturday, Donny, is Shabbos, the Jewish day of rest. That means that I don't work, I don't get in a car, I don't fucking ride in a car, I don't pick up the phone, I don't turn on the oven, and I sure as shit

Walter Sobchak: don't fucking roll! Shomer shabbos!
The Dude: Walter...
Walter Sobchak: Shomer fucking shabbos.

Default Hey, HEY, HEY! What's going on?

This a GUN forum, damn! Weren't we discussing about this toy? So, let ME get back to the thread, with a brief product analysis.

It's nothing that the Chinese couldn't do, actually. Even because, if you take a look at it, that's nothing special:
http://www.securityarms.com/forums/a...6&d=1149263280

It's just what seems to be a DOUBLE gun support. Take a look at the back part: that's a .7'62x25mm TYPE 79 sub-machine gun inserted all the way in the support. It fits to the front barrel of it, and works as the main weapon for the user.
The under-slung directional support features a micro-camera linked via wire to a small LCD display. Nothing special: the Chinese build cameras for Nikon, Sony, etc. since years, so don't tell me that they don't have the technology. The front trigger activates a system of levers that trigger the gun positioned in the front support (in this case, a .7'62x17mm TYPE 77 semi-automatic pistol, the soon-to-be-replaced service handgun for the average Chinese police patrol officers).

The system by itself leaves me nothing to wonder nor astounds me in any way. Yet it is a smart, cheap and cost-effective alternative to the Israeli CORNER-SHOT (tm), with the advantage that with the CORNER-SHOT (tm) the user has one only weapon available (the pistol that's fit in the directional support), while this Chinese trick features TWO weapons to be made available to the shooter: the automatic gun fitted frontwards in the support, to deliver burst fire at a target in front of him; and the pistol fitted in the directional support, to take more or less aimed shots behind corners.

Default Red Aesthetics

What is it with Commies and their complete inability to actually make anything look even remotely pretty, I mean shit is it some sort of Communist statement that ergonomics and aesthetics has no place in Red society?

I'd argue that the AK-47, PPSH-41, Dragunov, and Mosin-Nagant have their aesthetic appeal. The Soviet/Chinese aesthetics sort of fall flat, though, when it comes to modern designs.

The solution? MORE WOOD.

I partially have to agree with you (only PARTIALLY; I say that the QBZ-95 -does- has some aesthetics... at least as far as I am concerned, but you all know I have some pretty appeal for futuristic-lookalike guns, you know, when it was time to get a new desktop wallpaper for my Notebook, I had two hi-res pictures: in one there was Milla Jovovich, in the other one a Vektor CP-1. Guess what I chose? ).

ON THE OTHER HAND, I strongly disagree with the concept that a gun must absolutely have aesthetics. Most of Chinese guns (and basically most of guns made under Commie rule) might be ugly as sin, but them are FUNCTIONAL. Them WORK. Not completely pointlessly, they like better ugly guns that to the job for which them have been built, than some gun-rack queenie that jams after just a few shots.

And, but that's just my two cents, even if the Chinese guns -ARE- ugly, it's not like the M-16, the G-36 and the L-85 are some kind of Miss Universe finalists of the guns world...
