Default Bend Over and Grab Your Ankles

You may as well book a few days off a week for classes and registrations. At least you won’t be alone – could see a bunch of friends you haven’t seen for years. It will be a new social networking adventure.

You will have to carry a photo ID firearms license.
A training class is required to be licensed.
Disclosure of your storage method is required for license.
A thumb print is required for license.
Every sale recorded by the federal government.
If you move, and don’t tell the Attorney General within 60 days, you are a criminal.
If a firearm is stolen and you don’t report it, you are a criminal.
There will be no grandfathered firearms. If you do not obtain a license and report every firearm you currently own, you are a criminal.
There will be a license fee and a fee for the “services” provided at purchase time.
Licenses must be renewed every 5 years.
You who inherit the heavy privilege to serve in freedom's name, must brace for the battle surely to come.

And hasn't been passed yet.

And it's so goddamn extreme (for America, of course) that it's unlikely to pass unless the Military takes over or something.

So chill out.

BTW, it looks like it has been sketched out from the current Italian gun laws: photo ID gun license to be renewed every 5 years, training class, thumb print, basically everything except that in Italy we -DO- have grandfathered guns and you don't have to disclose our storage method (but we can be "inspected" by Police at every time, and if they find that your guns are not safely stored, you're in some little bit of a trouble; all gun owners in Italy have a safe).
Guess what? It's not THAT big of a deal.
It would just not pass in America.

"We (atheists) act in good conscience because we believe in moral principles, not because we expect a reward in Heaven." -- Margherita Hack
