Going as a civilian for a month.
Start-up of a particleboard plant and personnel training on new era industrial automation. Do you think they'll use the informations to make weapons?
Don't blame me. My team has two americans as well (...all catholics, yeak!).
Anyway, I feel better now that they've released the Royal Marines.

One advice is not to point the camera around when touristing, might get you into trouble. Happened to 2 swedish citizens in Iran recently the were accused of being spies and are still being held prisoners.

Oh, and remember: yes, maybe touristing with a camera might get you in trouble, but in places like Iran (and Belarus, where I'll be going in June for a family friend's marriage) there's nothing that a 500€ bill can't fix.

As near as I can tell, there is nothing "weaponizable" about a particleboard plant. No more than like screenprinting or beekeeping or textiles. The only thing I can think of would be perhaps early level cellulose processing for gunpowder, but wood is a poor choice for that, cotton is orders of magnitude easier to and grow in quantity so that seems unlikely. That or inert filler for various things, but that can come from just about anything... plastics, foam, dirt.

It could be used to make biplanes, which would remove twenty years from the Iranian technological gap.
