If people are so stupid as to turn in their knives when the are not banned , How can they expect their gun rights to be returned!

That's just it, they are banned. Just because there is a law doesn't mean there isn't a ban; there are confiscations and prosecutions going on involved in this.

Just because it wasn't specifically established by parliament doesn't mean it isn't the de facto law of the land. This is a use of police powers and discretion allowed them in the determination of what is or is not a weapon. It is also an excellent example of why law enforcement should not be allowed to make these kinds of decisions. *cough* Kalifornia *cough*
