Exclamation I'm on assignment again...

...this time for an article about "Springfield M-1903 Vs. Mauser Kar98K".

I am looking for any good "epoque" picture of soldiers handling those rifles. Also, it'd be a great slam if I could find a picture of the Pedersen Device (you know what it is, right?) attached to a Springfield M-1903 (Mark 1).

THNX!

Umm... a friend of mine in college was related to the inventor of that device? lol

I can't find any usable pictures of the thing. I know I have some somewhere but I think they are copywrited.

I don't know, for the Perdersen story.
There is too the Perdersen T1 experimental rifle in .276 (7mm) caliber, the unfortunate rival of the Garand.
Nice pictures Cesare.

Possibly, but anything is good (even post-WW2 or pre-war pictures of soldiers marching and drilling with those guns, propaganda pictures with soldiers with guns in their hands, anything).

Besides, you have already been of great help. TANKS as usual. The article is a "comparaison" between the two "rivals" (which weren't actually "rivals", the M-1903 was on its way out when the Kar98K entered service, and the Mauser was actually much more rival on war with designs like the Garand M1 and the Lee-Enfield). But with this stuff about the Pedersen device, I am definitely going to strike.

I have to confess you all, guys, that my "membership" with SECURITYARMS.COM in these past years is what has contributed the most to enhance my knowledge about firearms at the current level, allowing me to enter in this "contribution" with DIANA ARMI (which is going to turn in an all-out employment some times after my graduation).

I sincerely feel that I have to thank you all.

One curiosity about the 0.30 Pedersen device short cartridge: could it be named as a "forerunner" for the .30-M1 cartridge?
