Oh, PLEASE, tell me this isn't happening...
It sadly IS.
 One of the world's worst fucking movies EVER...  ...JUST GOT A FUCKING REMAKE!   (see also buggery).

 Well they could rewrite it in typical Hollywood fashion, make it full of shitty cgi effects, and rewrite the plot about an invasion of sorcerer elves from another planet, and then Matt Damon and Ben Afleck can save the day. And you know the soundtrack can be by Will Smith or something. Oh and it should be rewritten into a love story too.

"Red Dawn" can only be enjoyed in an ironic, '80s cheesy sort of way - and it even seems to be kind of slipping from that status as the years go by. A remake is the last thing we need.

Those horrible 80's films are always on late nite TV. I leave them on as background noise. It brings back fond memories of childhood. Funny thing is, I knew movies like this sucked when I was 12 years old !!

When speaking of the original film only, I still think you have to respect the filmmakers who created that movie, just because of the extreme lengths they went to make it happen.
Replica hinds, replica T-72s, AK rifles... at that point in time this was no small feat to put together.

Actually one of the rifles was for sale on a website I visited back in 02 or 03 I think. It was a Romanian AKM modified to fire blanks only. It was the one carried by the Late Patrick Swayzee and they wanted like $3.000 for it !!
