Exclamation ID help req.!

I have been asked to ID this rifle. It reminds me of something, but I can't actually tell right now. It's just... not the right day for me.
It looks like the picture has been taken from the RIA Auctions website (I recognize the style). Anybody care to help?

Question Re: ID help req.!

I also find it vaguely familiar or i have seen something very close.
But it must be a custom restocked action?
Ill try to think, please let us know if you remember what it is.

I have seen a rifle like this one in Switzerland many years ago, hunting version of Mondragon rifle.

It would seem to be a "Steyr 1911" carbine. I couldn't acquire any further informations.

Lightbulb Re: ID help req.!

I knew i had seen it, however i do not know the history behind it.
It is apparently chambered for a 9mm cartridge? Barrel is 19.5''Long.
"This unique experimental Steyr carbine utilizes an action very similar to the Mauser G41(M) action and gas system. The only visible markings is "STEYR 1911" (highlighted in gold) on the left receiver wall. The barrel is equipped with a ramped blade front sight and two leaf (one folding, one stationary) rear sight. The safety is mounted on the trigger guard plate directly ahead of the trigger guard. The carbine is mounted with a one piece Mannlicher style checkered pistol grip stock with a horn grip cap, metal buttplate with compartment and sling swivel. The front sling swivel has been removed."
