I would like to get some advice on a good solid shotgun buy for a first hunting shotgun? Right now it looks like pehaps the Benelli Vinci & a Beretta Silver Pigeon. Also what do you consider a good womens semiauto shotgun in .20ga?

I could have some advice to you, but it would all depend on the price you're willing to pay. The Benelli "Vinci" and Beretta A-400 "XPlor Unico", "XPlor Light" and "XPlor Action" are probably the best available hunting shotguns today, but also are all but cheap. The Franchi "Fast" and "Predator" also make a good choice.
As a 20-gauge semi-automatic hunting shotgun for a lady, I might suggest you the Franchi 720, the Remington 11-87 "Sportsman Synthetic" or "Sportsman Youth Compact", the Weatherby SA-08 Synthetic Youth, a CZ-720 or a Fausti "Progress". You might also want to check out the XLR and "Lion" series by FABARM, and the long series of Russian (Baikal) and Turkish (Sarsilmaz, Hatsan, Armsan et al.) shotguns, pretty sturdy and reliable for the price, imported in the USA by a long list of companies, ranging from EAA Corp. to Tri-Star Sporting Arms thru Legacy Sports International. Take also note of the fact that Franchi has recently launched a semiauto 20-gauge model called the "Affinity".

Great! Tx that is a good list, even though some of them might be out of the price range = )
Another question; Is Fast & Predator the same as former 712-series? |

Them do, in fact, represent an evolution of the 712/720 series, using a greater amount of lightweight high-tech metal alloys and carbon-fiber polymer to keep weight low for an easier long carry.

...I've been notified today by an importer that the Turkish manufacturer YILDIZ A.S. has started the production and the marketing of a 20-gauge version of its A-71 semi-automatic shotgun. The Yildiz shotguns are known for being very reliable and sturdy for the price tag they come with (the A-71 in 20-gauge goes in Italy for 528€, VAT included). You might want to check it out.
