If it was for zombies I'd think you'd want something in a lighter caliber than .50BMG... More ammo, and all.

If you can pick 'em off from a mile away, then perhaps not.

Off topic, yet apropos, "Land Of The Dead" was horrible. The ammo usage in that movie (among other things) made me cringe.
